Council considered approving the request of the Parks and <br /> Recreation Department to form an ad hoc Sports Association. <br /> Motion was made by Councilperson Shipp to approve the <br /> request to form an ad hoc Sports Association. Second by <br /> Councilperson Clarke. The motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 <br /> nays. <br /> Ayes: Councilpersons Lloyd, Matuszak, Porter, Shipp, Gay, <br /> Clarke and Mayor Malone <br /> Nays: None <br /> 17. Council considered approving a contract for engineering <br /> services for stormwater project utilities relocation. <br /> Motion was made by Councilperson Shipp to award engineering <br /> services for stormwater project utilities relocation in <br /> connection with watershed F101 to Landev Engineers, Inc., <br /> at a cost not to exceed $16,715. Second by Councilperson <br /> Lloyd. The motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> Ayes: Councilpersons Lloyd, Matuszak, Porter, Shipp, Gay, <br /> Clarke and Mayor Malone <br /> Nays: None <br /> 18. Council considered taking action in response to Houston <br /> Chemical Service, Inc.'s, letter of April 11, 1988. <br /> The City Attorney read a letter he had prepared in answer <br /> to the letter received from Roliff H. Purrington, Jr., <br /> partner in the firm of Mayor, Day & Caldwell and who <br /> represents Houston Chemical Services, Inc., Southern <br /> Ionics, Inc., and Kathy and J. Brian Axtle. The reply <br /> letter respectfully declined to take the non - binding <br /> referendum off of the May 7 ballot. <br /> Motion was made by Councilperson Porter to send the letter <br /> as read by the City Attorney to Roliff Purrington. Second <br /> by Councilperson Matuszak. The motion carried, 6 ayes and <br /> 1 nay. <br />
