Council considered an ordinance authorizing execution by the <br />City of La Porte of an Industrial District Agreement with FMC <br />Corporation, within the Bayport Industrial District for the <br />term commencing January 1, 1987, and ending December 31, 1993. <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 93-1985 - AN ORDINANCE <br />AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION BY THE CITY OF LA PORTE OF AN <br />INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT AGREEMENT WITH FMC CORPORATION, WITHIN THE <br />BAYPORT INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT FOR THE TERM COMMENCING JANUARY 1, <br />1987, AND ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1993. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Gay to adopt Ordinance 93- <br />1895 as read by the City Attorney. Second by Councilperson <br />Sutherland. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, <br />McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor <br />Malone <br />Nays: None <br />12. Council considered an application for a Council hearing from <br />Mr. Tim DeWalt, appealing the decision of the Wrecker <br />Committee denying permit. <br />Planning Director Chuck Harrington addressed Council and gave <br />background on this item and reasons the Wrecker Committee <br />denied a Wrecker Permit to Mr. DeWalt. It is the Committee's <br />opinion that Mr. DeWalt failed to present sufficient evidence <br />to warrant a new Wrecker permit, and they recommend on that <br />basis, that Mr. DeWalt's request for a public hearing before <br />the Council be denied. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Sutherland to deny the <br />request of Mr. Tim DeWalt for a public hearing before the City <br />Council. Second by Councilperson Cooper.
