<br />Wrecker Committee <br />Minutes of January 27, 2010 <br />Page 2 of 2 <br /> <br />Bobby Slocum, of La Porte Towing, expressed a concern that too many wrecker permits <br />have already been issued. Mr. Slocum noted Reliance Ford has been problematic by not <br />owning the wreckers they use and by not showing up in a timely manner. <br /> <br />Lt. Rice asked that the Police Department be notified when problems associated with <br />wrecker call-outs arise. <br /> <br />D. Close public hearing. <br /> <br />The public hearing was closed at 3:54 p.m. <br /> <br />5. Consider action to grant or deny an emergency auto wrecker permit to Charlie Hinds Paint and <br />Body, Inc., under Section 78-297 of the La Porte Code of Ordinances. <br /> <br />Motion by Lt. Rice to grant an emergency auto wrecker permit to Charlie Hinds Paint and Body, <br />fnc. Second by Martha Gillett. The motion carried with all in favor. <br /> <br />6. Administrative Reports <br /> <br />There were no administrative reports. <br /> <br />7. Committee Comments <br /> <br />Committee Members requested a workshop be scheduled for a comprehensive review of the <br />auto wrecker ordinance for possible updates. <br /> <br />Lt. Rice will provide Committee Members with copies of ordinances for the Cities of Pasadena <br />and Deer Park. <br /> <br />A. Matters appearing on agenda. <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />B.
