Minutes, Regular Meeting, Board of Adjustment
November 17, 1981, Page 3

Lewis: I would say this is carports. Fences, as in other
cases, have their own individual problems. You really have
to look at each item on its own basis.

Wilson: I recommend we consider these cases this evening. I
move that this request for variance to permit a carport and
porch cover at 705 South Nugent be granted.

Albanese:

I second the motion.

Grant: All in favor of granting the variance for Leon Marks?

Ayes: Grant, Wilson, Mains, Albanese

Grant: Against granting the variance?

There were no nays.

Grant: Mr. Marks, you will receive a notice to the effect that
your variance has been granted, and within 10 days you should
acquire a building permit.

4. Grant: Mr. Ibarra, do you have anything to say about your car-
port?

Ibarra: No, I don't have anything to add.

Lewis: On this carport also, we recommend it be allowed to
stand, but we do want to see some reinforcement done on it.

Grant: Do you have specific recommendations on the construction
of the carport?

Lewis: Yes, sir. The joist that runs across the carport that
the tin sits on, on top, are spliced. They should be replaced
with a solid piece of wood. There should also be a more sub-
stantial means of attaching it to the upright board.

Grant: Would you write a detailed recommendation for repairs
as they apply to this carport?

Lewis: Yes, sir.

Wilson: My only other question is, is there anyone here to voice
a complaint?

Grant: There doesn't seem to be one.
