<br />M.INUTES <br /> <br />OF THE <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF THE <br /> <br />LA PORTE ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT <br /> <br />SEPTEMBER 29, 1983 <br /> <br />1. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Andy Wilson <br />at 7:05 P.M. <br /> <br />Members of the Board Present: Andy Wilson, Sidney Grant, <br />Ronnie Rowell, Charlie Young <br /> <br />City Staff Present: Chief Building Official David Paulissen, <br />Assistant City Attorney John Armstrong <br /> <br />Others Present: <br /> <br />Sim Sullins of Pulte Homes <br /> <br />Since no minutes of the previous Board of Adjustment meeting <br />were available, they were deferred to the next meeting for <br />consideration. <br /> <br />Chairman Wilson felt item 3 was placed on the agenda <br />and wished to suspend the agenda and strike item 3. <br />City Attorney Armstrong opined that since a variance <br />requested, it should be acted upon. <br /> <br />in error <br />Assistant <br />had been <br /> <br />The Chair entertained a motion to suspend the agenda and <br />strike item 3. There was no motion forthcoming. <br /> <br />2. The Board considered the next item on the agenda, which was <br />a request from Martin Bridge, for a front yard fence at 611 <br />South Iowa. <br /> <br />Mr. Bridge was not present at the meeting. His letter of <br />request was declared by Mr. Armstrong to be sufficient evi- <br />dence of the request. It was questioned if Mr. Bridge had <br />received proper notification of the meeting. In light of <br />that question, motion was made by Sidney Grant to postpone <br />action until the next regular meeting and that the Chair <br />take action to communicate with City officials that Mr. Bridge <br />get second notification if he has already had the first notice. <br />The motion died for lack of a second. <br /> <br />Mr. Bridge's request was then considered. Motion was made by <br />Charlie Young to grant the variance to Martin Bridge for a <br />front yard fence at 611 South Iowa. Second by <br />The motion failed, 0 ayes, 4 nays. <br /> <br />-"' <br />
