<br />Minutes, Regular Meeting <br />La Porte Zoning Board of Adjustment <br />October 27, 1983, Page 2 <br /> <br />~~ <br /> <br />David Paulissen, Chief BuildingLofficial, stated that staff <br />has no problems with these u~ri 1.. Q, since they are so small, <br />and that they recommend the special exception be granted. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Mains, second by Rowell, to grant the <br />special exception to the building setback line. The motion <br />carried, 4 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: <br />Nays: <br /> <br />Rowell, Mains, Young and Wilson <br />None <br /> <br />5. The Board considered the request of Mrs. Jim Cooper, 11806 <br />Plainbrook Drive, to allow a structure to be built less than <br />25 feet to the road. <br />i4~ <br />Mrs. Cooper appeare1fthe Board to request a carport be allowed <br />to be built on her property that will encroach approximately <br />8 feet, leaving 17 feet to the road. She explained that this <br />is a professionally installed carport and that it is in an <br />extremely rural area of Lomax, with only a few houses. <br /> <br />Mr. paulissen stated that the definition of "Hardship" in the <br />~eubgivioi~n ordinance, states that the situation must be unique <br />-~ q to the land. He recommends granting the request due to the <br />rural area and the large lots involvedr and feels it would <br />cause no problems with the rest of the neighborhood. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Rowell, second by Young, to grant the special <br />exception to Mrs. Jim Cooper and allow a structure to be built <br />less than 25 feet to the road. The motion carried, 4 ayes and <br />o nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: <br />Nays: <br /> <br />Rowell, Mains, Young and Wilson <br />None <br /> <br />6.
