<br />LA PORTE ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
<br />APRIL 25, 1985
<br />
<br />1. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Sidney Grant at
<br />7:00 P.M.
<br />
<br />Members of the Board Present: Sidney Grant, Vivian Covington,
<br />Lawrence Farias, Charlie Young, Ronney Rowell
<br />
<br />Members of the Board Absent: Robert Swanagan, Linda Mains
<br />
<br />Members of City Staff Present: Chief Building Official David
<br />Paulissen, Assistant City Attorney John Armstrong
<br />
<br />Others Present: Paul Feinsot, Ed Goode, R. Benson Pair, Jr.
<br />
<br />2. The Board considered a special use permit for Dana Tank
<br />Container, Inc.
<br />
<br />David Paulissen, Chief Building Official, reviewed the site,
<br />which is currently zoned industrial, and the request of Dana
<br />Tank Container for a special use permit for a truck wash and
<br />truck storage yard (freight terminal). He addressed some of
<br />the problems to be overcome before the site could be used,
<br />namely, sanitary sewer extension, water lines, part of a
<br />street needing to be constructed, and drainage.
<br />
<br />Paulissen stated that staff recommends a conditional special
<br />use permit, if the problems can be met and overcome.
<br />
<br />A representative of Dana Tank Container gave a review of their
<br />operations.
<br />
<br />After questions from the Board, motion was made by Ronney
<br />Rowell to grant a special use permit providing the conditions
<br />laid out by the City staff are met by Dana Tank Container,
<br />Inc. The motion was seconded. The motion was carried, 5 ayes
<br />and 0 nays.
<br />
<br />Ayes: Grant, Covington, Farias, Rowell and Young
<br />Nays: None
<br />
<br />3. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
