<br />. . <br /> <br />CITY OF LA PORTE <br />INTER-OFFICE MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DA T E: <br />TO: <br /> <br />July 31, 1986 <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />PI~ & Zoning Board of Adjustment <br /> <br />D~lissen; Chief Building Official; Zoning Admin. <br /> <br />Highway Transport's request for Special Use Permit <br />Lots 1-3 of Block 797; La Porte <br /> <br />for <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />Highway Transport Inc. is requesting a Spec ial Use Permit for the <br />above referenced property to allow them to provide additional trailer <br />parking for their existing truck terminal. <br /> <br />Section 13-505 (2) of Ordinance 780-ZZZ requires Special Use Permits <br />as follows: <br /> <br />"Uses for which Special Use Permi ts may be secured... are as <br />follows: <br /> <br />(1) Freight terminals [Truck terminals as per 7-163 of <br />Ordinance 780 definitions]" <br /> <br />Special Use regulations are specified by Section 13-505 of Ordinance <br />780 as follows: <br /> <br />"Special Uses may be authorized by the Board of Adjustments in <br />appropriate cases and subject to certain conditions and safeguards <br />as might be required by the Board..." <br /> <br />The following requirements apply: <br /> <br />1) The property must be industrially zoned. <br /> <br />2) Granting the permit <br />depreciate the value <br />neighborhoods. <br /> <br />must not adversely affect <br />of surrounding property <br /> <br />or <br />or <br /> <br />3) Granting the permit must be "in keeping with the spirit <br />and intent" of the Zoning Ordinance and must not adversely <br />affect the implementation of the Comprehensive Plan. <br />
