• <br />• Board of Adjustment <br />January 31, 1991 Meeting <br />Page 4 of 5 <br /> Joel Albrecht presented the staff's report. He stated <br /> that at the time Mr. Shanks purchased his home located <br /> at 202 South 3rd Street, the home had been vacant for a <br /> number of years and was in a dilapidated condition. <br /> At that time there was a detached garage in the rear <br /> yard and a side porch located on the north side of the <br /> house. According to Mr. Shanks, the garage was set <br /> back five feet from the north property line. This <br />" property line abuts the West "A" Street right-of-way. <br /> In order to complete foundation repairs to his house, <br /> he was forced to remove the side porch and at that time <br /> the dilapidated garage was demolished. While both the <br />"~- ~ new garage and new porch would be larger than the <br /> originals, both would maintain the original setbacks. <br />."~ •- <br />"-" Section 11-605.2.b.3 allows the Board of Adjustment to <br />_ <br />'-::~, consider "yard exception(s) on corner lots." This is <br />- the exception requested. It is eligible to be <br />~.- - considered for the requested relief. <br />• ~ Dr. Bernay swore in Mr. Shanks. He told the Board he <br />_ wished to replace the garage that had been demolished <br />_ _ _ because of its poor condition and also replace the <br />- y;. ~ <br />: ~:."~,~:` ': "porch that had to be removed in order to make repairs <br />_ <br />• - - -..- ' , <br />to. the foundation of the house.
