<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The uses in an R-I district support a single family lifestyle with commo~, uses that <br />enhance the family and its property. The typical single family district would include <br />churches schools and recreational facilities in ,addition to the family home. ' <br /> <br />A more rural lifestyle is characteristic of the Lomax area. In La Porte's zoning ordinance <br />the single family district has special provisions for large lot residential uses. where as an <br />accessory use, families living on larger lots (greater then one acre) may raise some <br />livestOck, such as cattle or horses in accordance to the current zoning ordinance. <br />Therefore the Lomax area is able to keep its rural flavor within specific limits of the <br />city's zoning ordinance regarding the large lot and accessory uses. These specific limits <br />will be discussed later. ' <br /> <br />Property Description <br />The property in question is 13.5+ acres in size. A western parcel is 9.0+ acres in size and <br />is primarily used for grazing. The eastern parcel is 4.5+ acres andCompris~, several <br />major structures on the site including a single-family residence a horse sta~le, and a <br />welding shop. Major fenced off areas include the arena in the southwestern corner of the <br />site, pastures lands to the east and north of the house, and horse stable and a horse, <br />exercise area near the stable. In addition, there are several minor outbuildings located <br />through out the property. The surrounding properties are primarily large Jot single family' <br />with maybe some domestic livestock for their own use and enjoyment. <br /> <br /> <br />5 <br />
