<br /> discussed at a future meeting once Council advises the City Secretary they have a person
<br /> to fill the vacant slot.
<br /> 15. Discussion concerning the proposed 2008-2009 City of La Porte Budget
<br /> Discussion held Monday, August 11, 2008.
<br /> City Manager Ron Bottoms opened with a general overview of the budget.
<br /> Finance Director Michael Dolby provided an overview of revenues/expenditures.
<br /> Departmental budgets including Emergency Services (Fire Prevention, Fire Suppression,
<br /> and EMS), Police Department(Police Patrol, Criminal Investigation, Police Support),
<br /> Emergency Management, Administration, Community Investment Fund, Hotel/Motel, Main
<br /> Street Program, Fund 38-4B, Human Resources, Insurance Funds, Municipal Court,
<br /> Purchasing, City Secretary's Office, City Council, Legal, Finance, Tax and Non-
<br /> departmental budgets were discussed. Mr. Bottoms provided council with an overview of
<br /> each department outlining the major decreases, increases and capital requests. Mr.
<br /> Bottoms noted capital items would be discussed separately in detail later in the meeting.
<br /> Council requested a new sound system be considered for the Council Chambers.
<br /> The meeting was recessed on August 11, 2008, at 9:35 p.m. The meeting is scheduled to
<br /> reconvene on August 12, 2008, at 6:00 p.m.
