for the purpose of amending the City of La Porte, TexasHome Rule Charter. Section 3. That said special election shall be held in conjunction with the regularly scheduled City Council election on said same date for the purpose of submitting to the voters of the City of La Porte, Texas the following propositions for amendments to the Charter of the City of La Porte, Texas. Voting on the date of the election, and early voting therefore, shall be by the use of a lawfully approved voting system. The preparation of the voting equipment to be used in connection with such voting system and the official ballots for the election shall conform to the Texas Election Code, as amended, so as to permit the electors of the City of La Porte to vote“Yes” or “No” for the home rule charter ballot proposition. Said ballots shall have printed therein such provisions, markings, and language as may be required by law;and the propositionsshall be set forth on said ballots in substantially the following form and language: Proposition One: Shallreferences to obsolete provisions ofstate lawfound in Sections 1.03, 1.05, 2.10, 2.11, and 7.01, 8.01, and 8.06 of the La Porte Charter be amendedby referencing in their place the current state statute and/or law applicable to the charter section? ____ For ____ Against Proposition Two: Shall Section 1.03 of the La Porte Charter be amended to conform rules and procedures relating to annexation of territory into the La Porte citylimits to the requirements of state law? ____ For ____ Against Proposition Three: Shall Section 1.06of the La Porte Charter be amended to extend from 30 days to 180 days the time a claimant alleging damages or injury against the City has to provide written notice to the City of their claim? ____ For ____ Against
