Councilmember Engelken commented he would like to see previous results for contracting for <br />energy saving performances. <br />Councilmember Martin asked if the savings consist of more than just air conditioning. Mr. Alexander <br />responded it consist of lights, insulation and equipment. <br />Councilmember Clausen commented he has never been a proponent of performance contracting, <br />and the City will have to be very careful selecting a company. <br />Mayor Rigby commented there may be some companies that will conduct an energy audit. <br />Councilmember Earp moved to bring this item back after additional information is gathered. <br />MOTION PASSED. <br />Councilmember seconded Engelken. <br />Ayes: Mayor Rigby, Councilmembers Clausen, Martin, Leonard <br />Kaminski, Earp and Engelken <br /> Nays: None <br /> Absent: Councilmember Zemanek <br />9. COUNCIL COMMENTS <br />regarding matters appearing on the agenda; recognition of community <br />members, city employees, and upcoming events; inquiry of staff regarding specific factual <br />information or existing policies– Councilmembers Martin, Kaminski, Zemanek, Leonard, Engelken, <br />Earp, Clausen and Mayor Rigby <br /> Councilmember Martin congratulated Parks and Recreation Director Rosalyn Epting and staff on <br />the reopening of the Recreation and Fitness Center; commented the new safety exchange zone by <br />the Police Department is a great idea; thanked Representative Wayne Smith for the resolution to <br />the Moser family; and asked City Manager Corby Alexander why “no truck signs” are not allowed on <br />Wharton Weems Road; Councilmember Kaminski congratulated Parks and Recreation Director <br />Rosalyn Epting and staff on the reopening of the Recreation and Fitness Center; commented on <br />her excitement for the new safety exchange zone by the Police Department; thanked <br />Representative Wayne Smith for the resolution and sent prayers to the Moser family; <br />Councilmember Leonard congratulated Parks and Recreation Director Rosalyn Epting and staff on <br />the reopening of the Fitness Center; thanked Representative Wayne Smith for the resolution to the <br />Moser family; Councilmember Engelken commented the Recreation and Fitness Center should be <br />made a showcase; commented a convention center should be addressed in the future; and thanked <br />Representative Wayne Smith for the resolution; Councilmember Earp thanked Representative <br />Wayne Smith for the resolution; commented on how much he misses Councilmember Moser; and <br />what a great idea for the new safety exchange zone; Councilmember Clausen thanked <br />Representative Wayne Smith for the resolution and sent prayers to the Moser family; commented it <br />was great for the Recreation and Fitness Center to be open again; commented the new safety <br />exchange zone is a great idea; and advised he attended the groundbreaking for Sens Road; Mayor <br />Rigby thanked Representative Wayne Smith for the resolution; commented Councilmember Moser <br />was a good man that will be sorely missed; commented it is wonderful to have the Recreation and <br />Fitness Center reopened and advised he attended the Sens Road groundbreaking, and it will be a <br />540-day project; and he thanked Public Works Director and City Engineer Bob Eng for their <br />assistance on Highway 146 and Wharton Weems Road. <br />11. ADJOURN - <br />There being no further business, Councilmember Engelken made a motion to adjourn <br />the meeting at 7:05 p.m. Councilmember Leonard seconded.
