NJPA members may be authorized to use NJPA contracts through joint exercise of <br />powers laws, interlocal cooperation or cooperative purchasing laws. All awarded contracts through NJPA <br />have been through a competitively bid process. <br />With the passing of SB 1281 a Texas local government may participate in a cooperative purchasing <br />program with another local government of this state or another state or with a local cooperative <br />organization of this state or another state. <br />Staff is requesting approval to enter into a Joint Powers of Agreement with NJPA to utilize cooperative <br />purchasing contracts. The Fire Department has identified a contract through NJPA to purchase a <br />command vehicle which is a separate agenda item for consideration. <br />There are no membership fees to be a member of NJPA. <br />Action Required by Council: <br />Consider approval or other action authorizing the City to enter into a Joint Powers of Agreement with NJPA. <br />Approved for City Council Agenda <br />Corby D.
