Barbara Norwine, 202 S. Lobit, addressed Council in favor of removing the City of La Porte truck <br />th <br />route on W. Main Street from 16 Street to Underwood Rd. but stated the trucks do need to be able <br />to get around the City to carry goods. <br />6. CONSENT AGENDA (All consent agenda items are considered routine by City Council and will be enacted <br />by one motion. There will be no separate discussion of these items unless a Councilmember requests an <br />item be removed and considered separately.) <br /> <br />(a) Consider approval or other action regarding minutes of the meeting held on <br />June 13, 2016 P. Fogarty <br /> <br />(b) Consider approval or other action authorizing the City Manager to execute a construction <br />contract for the unit prices bid for Bid #16016 for Concrete Sidewalk Repair S. Valiante <br /> <br />(c) Consider approval or other action awarding RFP #16507 for Golf Course Concessions A. <br />Osmond <br /> <br />Regarding Item B, Councilmember Earp asked if the Concrete Sidewalk Repairs are also for next <br />year. Ms. Valiante responded yes. <br /> <br />Councilmember J. Martin moved to approve the Consent Agenda items pursuant to staff <br />recommendations. Councilmember Engelken seconded. MOTION PASSED UNANIMOUSLY 9/0. <br /> <br />7. PUBLIC HEARING AND ASSOCIATED ORDINANCES <br />(a) Public hearing to receive comments regarding the La Porte Fire Control, Prevention and <br />October 1, 2016, as approved by the Board of Directors of the District at its meeting held on <br />June 23, 2016; consider approval of proposed budget of La Porte Fire Control, Prevention <br />and Emergency Medical Services District D. Ladd <br /> <br />The public hearing opened at 6:23 p.m. <br /> <br />Assistant Fire Chief Donald Ladd presented a summary of the La Porte Fire Control, Prevention <br /> <br /> <br />Councilmember J. Martin asked if there is an estimate for revenues. Finance Director Michael <br />Dolby responded it is around $1 million. <br /> <br />Mayor Rigby asked why the replacement ambulance is not coming out of the Motor Pool <br />Replacement Fund. Mr. Ladd responded the ambulance will be funded by the Board. <br /> <br />There being no public comments, the public hearing closed at 6:38 p.m. <br /> <br />Councilmember Engelken moved to approve the proposed budget of La Porte Fire Control, <br />Prevention and Emergency Medical Services District for the fiscal year which begins October 1, <br />2016. Councilmember Zemanek seconded. MOTION PASSED UNANIMOUSLY 9/0. <br /> <br />(b) Public hearing to receive recommendation by the Planning and Zoning Commission to <br />amend <br />La Porte, Texas by adopting comprehensive guidelines, rules and regulation for subdivision <br />and development of land in the City of La Porte; consider approval or other action regarding <br />of the City of La Porte by adopting comprehensive guidelines, rules and regulation for <br />subdivision and development of land in the City of La Porte (This item was postponed at <br />the May 9, 2016 City Council Meeting) E.
