COUNCIL COMMENTS regarding matters appearing on the agenda; recognition of community <br />members, city employees, and upcoming events; inquiry of staff regarding specific factual <br />information. <br />Councilmember K. Martin thanked Assistant City Manager Traci Leach for her work with the <br />committee; Councilmember Kaminski thanked Assistant City Manager Traci Leach and Marketing/ <br />Public Relations Specialist Jaree Hefner for their work with the committee and George Watkins for <br />th <br />the 4 of July Parade; Councilmember Zemanek thanked the committee for their work and <br />expressed his disappointment in not receiving the financial report from the La Porte Boys Baseball <br />Association; Councilmember Engelken reiterated everything that was mentioned; Councilmember <br />th <br />Earp thanked George Watkins for the 4 of July Parade; suggested recognizing three time <br />400-meter Hurdles Olympian winner Kerron Clemment; recognized Marketing/ Public Relations <br />Specialist Jaree Hefner and Patrol Officer Benny Boles for cleaning up after the storm came <br />through during the last Sip and Stroll; Councilmember Clausen thanked Assistant City Manager <br />th <br />Traci Leach and the committee; and Mayor Rigby apologized for missing the 4 of July Parade due <br />to attending a ceremony at the Battleship of Texas; advised of the groundbreaking for the La Porte <br />th <br />Town Center and commented on the great fireworks for the 4 of July celebration. <br />9. ADJOURN - There being no further business, Councilmember Engelken made a motion to adjourn <br />the meeting at 6:18 p.m. Councilmember Leonard seconded. MOTION PASSED UNANIMOUSLY <br />7/0.
