Mayor <br />Councilmember District 2 <br />Councilmember At Large A <br />Councilmember District 3 <br />Councilmember At Large B <br />Councilmember District 4 <br />Mayor Pro-Tem <br />Councilmember District 5 <br />Councilmember District 1 <br />Councilmember District 6 <br />The City Council of the City of La Porte met in a regular meeting on at the City <br />Hall Council Chambers, 604 West Fairmont Parkway, La Porte, Texas, at . to consider the <br />following items of business: <br />– Mayor Rigby called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Members of Council <br />present: Councilmembers Engelken, J. Martin, K. Martin, Earp, Zemanek, Leonard, and Kaminski. <br />Also present were City Secretary Patrice Fogarty, City Manager Corby Alexander, and Assistant <br />City Attorney Clark Askins. Councilmember-elect Ojeda was in the audience awaiting the taking of <br />the Oath of Office. <br />– The invocation was given by Josh Ojeda. <br />The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Councilmember Chuck <br />Engelken. <br />Presentation – Administer Oath of Office and Presentation of Certificate of Election to newly <br />elected Councilmember Nancy Ojeda – P. Fogarty <br />City Secretary Patrice Fogarty administered the oath of office to Councilmember Nancy <br />Ojeda, and Mayor Rigby presented the Certificate of Election to Councilmember Nancy <br />Ojeda. After taking and signing the Oath of Office, Councilmember Ojeda took her place on <br />the Council dais. <br />Recognition – Employee of the First Quarter 2017 – Ruston Royall (Senior System <br />Administrator) City of La Porte Information Technology Department – Mayor Rigby <br /> Mayor Rigby recognized Senior System Administrator Ruston Royall as Employee of the <br />First Quarter for the City of La Porte. <br />(Limited to five minutes per person.) <br /> Pastor Phillip Dunn, 701 San Jacinto St., addressed Council in regards to parking lot issues at <br />Lighthouse Baptist Church and advised the church has not received any money from the school <br />district, which is in direct contradiction to the rumor going around that the school district has given <br />money to the church which allays any further help with parking lot issues. <br />Jim Hinton, 9803 Dover Hill, addressed Council and advised of flooding in his neighborhood since <br />th <br />the construction of the new Baker Jr. High 6 Grade Campus and requested Council to see if there <br />is any way to resolve to the flooding issue. <br />Page of <br />May 22, 2017, Council Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />
