Councilmember Leonard congratulated Anthony Bish and Ehren Torres as Employees of the First <br />Quarter 2018; and the Police and Emergency Medical Services Departments on their <br />proclamations; <br /> <br />Councilmember Engelken congratulated Mike Boaze on his retirement; congratulated new Fire <br />Chief Carl Holley; congratulated Anthony Bish and Ehren Torres as Employees of the First Quarter <br />2018; and the Police and Emergency Medical Services Departments on their proclamations; and <br />congratulated Mayor Rigby and Bill Bentley on their election; <br /> <br />Councilmember Earp congratulated Anthony Bish and Ehren Torres as Employees of the First <br />Quarter 2018; and the Police and Emergency Medical Services Departments on their <br />proclamations; congratulated Mayor Rigby, Councilmember Engelken, and Bill Bentley on their <br />election; congratulated Mike Boaze on his retirement; <br /> <br />Mayor Rigby congratulated Anthony Bish and Ehren Torres as Employees of the First Quarter 2018; <br />thanked Mike Boaze for his 18 years of service as Chief; commented he is looking forward to <br />working with new Fire Chief Carl Holley; thanked the Fire, Police and Emergency Medical Services <br />Departments for what they do year round; thanked Councilmembers Engelken, Ojeda, K. Martin <br />and J. Martin for their support during the election; thanked Councilmember Earp for his <br />congratulatory phone call on Saturday night; he thanked the citizens of La Porte for their support <br />during the election; and he commented he is looking forward to serving as Mayor for the next three <br />years. <br /> <br />12. EXECUTIVE SESSION The City reserves the right to meet in closed session on any agenda item <br />should the need arise and if applicable pursuant to authorization by Title 5, Chapter 551, of the <br />Texas Government Code, including, but not limited to, the following: <br /> <br />Texas Government Code, Section 551.074 Personnel Matter: Deliberation concerning the <br />appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, or dismissal of a public <br />officer or employee, unless the officer or employee requests a public hearing: Denice Mitrano, <br />Municipal Court Judge. <br /> <br />City Council recessed the regular Council meeting to convene an executive session at 7:41 p.m. <br />regarding the item listed above. <br /> <br />13. RECONVENE into regular session and consider action, if any on item(s) discussed in executive <br />session. <br /> <br />Council reconvened the regular Council meeting at 8:32 p.m. Regarding the evaluation of Denise <br />Mitrano, Municipal Court Judge, Councilmember Ojeda made a motion to give a 5% lump sum <br />payment in the amount of $6,960.00. Councilmember Leonard seconded. MOTION PASSED <br />UNAIMOUSLY 7/0. Councilmembers K. Martin and Zemanek were absent. <br />14. ADJOURN - There being no further business, Councilmember Engelken made a motion to adjourn <br />the meeting at 8:33 p.m. Councilmember Leonard seconded the motion.
