<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Office of the Mayor <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the <br />; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, these volunteers are committed to serving law enforcement and the <br />general public by promoting and advancing the Citizens Police Academy; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, as a graduate of the La Porte Citizen Police Academy (LPCPA), one <br />automatically becomes a member of the LPCPAAA; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, during this week, all over the nation volunteers will be recognized for their <br />commitment to service; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, our La Porte Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association provided 3,835 <br />hours of volunteer service to the City of La Porte last year, making possible countless <br />meaningful community initiatives; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, these volunteers are recognized as a great treasure to our community and an <br />essential part of our future as a caring and productive city. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, I, Louis R. Rigby, Mayor, do hereby proclaim April 7-13, 2019, as <br />part of National Volunteer Week, <br /> <br />La Porte Citizens Academy Alumni <br />Association Week <br /> <br />in La Porte, Texas, and urge my fellow citizens to volunteer in their community.
