Pursuant to Texas Local Government Code 418.108(a) a local <br />state of disaster may be declared. However, 418.108(b) states that the state of disaster <br />shall only continue for a period of not more than seven days from the date of that <br />declaration unless continued or renewed by the governing body. <br />In order to continue or renew the original Declaration of Disaster, an Extension of <br />Disaster Declaration needs to be approved by City of La Porte City Council. The <br />attached Extension of Disaster Declaration shall continue until terminated by executive <br />order of the Mayor or the governing body of La Porte. The Extension of Disaster <br />Declaration shall become effective on March 20, 2020. <br />RECOMMENDED MOTION <br /> <br />Approve an Extension of Disaster Declaration issued by the Mayor on March 13, 2020 <br />and any orders, rules, and regulations issued by the Mayor pursuant thereto. <br />Approved for the City Council meeting agenda <br /> <br /> <br />Corby D.
