Eligible improvements of the La Porte <br />Enhancement Grant Program include facade rehabilitation/enhancement, <br />beautification projects, new awnings, canopies, porches, signage, and parking lot <br />improvements. The program will reimburse eligible business owners 50% of the cost <br />of qualifying expenses upto $50,000. <br />The applicants, Marion and Vicki Campise, are formally requesting enhancement grant <br />funding in the amount of $50,000. The applicant estimates $196,576.94 in eligible <br />enhancement grant expenses. Typically, Enhancement Grant project are reviewed and <br />approvedsolely by the Development Corporation. However, bylaws require <br />expenditures in excess of $25,000 to be approved by the City Council. On July 27, <br />2020, the application was considered and approved by the Development Corporation. <br />Staff has provided documentation related to the project <br />Project History: <br />On February 24, 2020, staff brought to the La Porte Development CorporationBoard a <br />project in downtown La Porte. The applicant Marion (Marty) and Vicki Campise have <br />purchased <br />Ceramics. The building is located at 100 W. Main Street. The initial renovation proposal <br />included remodeling the building to have two (2) or three (3) retail spaces, along with <br />three (3) apartment units. There is a need to significantly remodel due to the roof <br />needing to be completely replaced, the entire façade needing to be redone and the <br /> <br />
