The approved budget for this
project totals $389,445 and is funded through the La PorteDevelopment Corporation.
This project allows for allexisting field lightingat Little Cedar Bayou Parkto be converted
to LEDs.
Subsequent to 1986, the lights have been repaired and replaced on an as-needed basis.
This project includes28 new cross armsattached to existing steel poles and 154 LED
light fixtures with visors. The seller warrants that all equipment furnished or
manufactured by the seller will be free from defects in material and workmanship for a
10 year period. The seller will also replace any defective material for the entire 10 year
period.Once installed, the lights willbe operated electronically and have the ability to
be scheduled when they are neededthrough an app on any smart phone. The
installation of these fixtureswill reduce our energy costs up to 50%. The lights for the
fieldsare not metered separately from the rest of the park therefore there is no way for
staff to determine the exact costs and savings. Currently each light fixture has a draw
of 3.5 amps totaling 539 amps for the park. The new draw per fixture will be 1.35 amps
with a total park draw of 207.9 amps which is right arounda 60% less draw.
Staff recommends authorizing the City Manager to execute a contract with Techline
Sports Lighting, LLCfor purchase and installation of new light fixtures on the softball
fields and soccer field at Little Cedar Bayou Parkin the amount of $363,370.00, under
