<br />Matt Daeumer, Assistant City Manager (35 years) <br /> <br />On March 30, 1987, Matt Daeumer signed and submitted his <br />application for employment as a police officer with the City of <br />La Porte. Later that year, he began what continues to be an <br />outstanding career of service to the La Porte community. Over <br />the next three decades plus, Matt worked in a variety of roles <br />and assignments in the police department. Officer, Sergeant, <br />Lieutenant, and Assistant Chief. Patrol, Support Services, and <br />file is full of letters of commendation from his supervisors and <br />peers as well as expressions of gratitude from La Porte <br />of the Year. Matt has long been a champion of continuing <br />education and training for others and he leads by example. He <br />holds numerous law enforcement and public management <br />Degree while balancing a heavy workload as Assistant Police <br />Chief. In April of this year, Matt was selected as the new <br />Assistant City Manager. His move to City Hall has been marked <br />by the same high levels of professionalism, leadership, and <br />dedication to serve this community displayed throughout his <br />career. Matt, thank you for your ongoing commitment to La <br />Porte. <br /> <br />
