8.0OTHER ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIDERATIONS <br />8.1A SBESTOS-C ONTAINING B UILDING M ATERIALS <br />Thesubjectpropertyiscurrentlyvacantlandorlacksstructures.Consequently,nobuilding <br />componentscontainingsuspectasbestoscontainingmaterialswereidentifiedduringthesite <br />inspection. <br />8.2L EAD-B ASED P AINT <br />Thesubjectpropertyiscurrentlyvacantlandorlacksstructures.Consequently,AEIdidnot <br />observe building components likely to contain suspect LBP during the site reconnaissance. <br />8.3R ADON <br />Radonisanaturally-occurring,odorless,andinvisiblegas.Naturalradonlevelsvaryandare <br />closelyrelatedtogeologicformations.Radonmayenterbuildingsthroughbasementsumpsor <br />other openings. <br />TheUnitedStatesEPAhaspreparedamaptoassistNational,State,andlocalorganizations <br />totargettheirresourcesandtoimplementradon-resistantbuildingcodes.Themapdividesthe <br />countryintothreeradonzones,withZone1beingthoseareaswiththeaveragepredictedindoor <br />radonconcentrationinresidentialdwellingsexceedingtheEPAActionLimitof4.0pCi/L.Itis <br />importanttonotethattheEPAhasfoundhomeswithelevatedlevelsofradoninallthree <br />zones,andtheEPArecommendssitespecifictestinginordertodetermineradonlevelsata <br />specificlocation.However,themapdoesgiveavaluableindicationofthepropensityofradon <br />gas accumulation in structures. <br />Radonsamplingwasnotrequestedaspartofthisassessment.AccordingtotheUSEPA,the <br />radonzonelevelfortheareaisZone3,whichhasapredictedaverageindoorscreeninglevel <br />less than 2 pCi/L, below the action level of 4 pCi/L set forth by the US EPA. <br />8.4D RINKING W ATER S OURCES AND L EAD IN D RINKING W ATER <br />TheCityofLaPortesuppliespotablewatertothesubjectproperty.Themostrecentwater <br />qualityreport(2015)statesthatthe90thpercentilevalueforleadlevelsinsamplesobtained <br />fromthearea'swatersupplywas3.4±g/L.Onlyonesamplehadleadlevelsexceedingthe <br />regulatoryactionlevel.Typicalsourcesofleadindrinkingwaterincludecorrosionofhousehold <br />plumbingsystems.Overall,leadlevelsarewellwithinstandardsestablishedbytheUnitedStates <br />EPA. <br />8.5M OLD/I NDOOR A IR Q UALITY I SSUES <br />Thesubjectpropertyiscurrentlyvacantlandorlacksstructures.Consequently,moldwasnot <br />addressed as part of this assessment. <br />Project No. 368495 <br />March 1, 2017 <br />Page25 <br /> <br />
