ARTICLE XL - SWIMMING POCILS121 <br />Footnotes: <br />---(9) --- <br />State Law reference-- Swimming pools, V.T.CA, IFieafth and Safety Code § 341,064 et seq. <br />Sec. 82-631. - Definitions. <br />The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed <br />to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning: <br />Multifamily dwelling project means any combination of two or more family dwelling units. <br />Private residential swimming pool means any swimming pool located on private property under the <br />control of a single home owner, the use of which is limited to members of his family or their invited guests. <br />Public swimming pool means any swimming pool, other than a private residential swimming pool, <br />intended to be used collectively by numbers of persons for swimming or bathing, however owned or <br />operated, and regardless of whether a fee is charged for such use. Such term Includes, but is not limited <br />to, swimming pools owned or operated incident to a multifamily dwelling project. <br />Swimming pool means any structure, basin, chamber, tank or other receptacle capable of containing <br />an artificial body of water for swimming, diving or recreational bathing and having a depth at any point of <br />three feet or more. <br />Wading pool means any special purpose pool or receptacle set aside primarily for use by children <br />(Code 1970,, § 22V2,-1) <br />Cross reference— Definitions generally, § 1-2. <br />Sec. 82-632. - Standard Swimming Pool Code adopted,. <br />The Standard Swimming Pool Code, 1994 edition, and appendices, as adopted by the Southern <br />Building Code Congress International, line, is hereby adopted; provided, however, that the exception <br />shown in section 304,2 (required equipment) is hereby deleted from such, adopted code. A copy of the <br />code is on file in the office of the Inspection division of the city, incorporated by reference in this article, <br />and made a part of this article, as fully as if copied at length in this section. <br />(Code 1970, § 221/2-7; Ord. No. 1569, § 1, 1.1.-23-87) <br />Sec. 82-633. -Water quality. <br />(a) The provisions of this section shall not apply to private residential swimming pools. <br />(b) All public swimming pools, as well as wading pools shall maintain water quality at all times <br />consistent with the requirements set forth in this section: <br />(1) Disinfectant. There shall be introduced into such pools sufficient disinfectant so as to maintain <br />at all times a free chlorine residual of not less than 0.5 ppm as shown by the standard ortho- <br />tolicline test, which level shall be maintained in all parts of the pool. <br />
