I. Introduction <br />TXDOT & Harris Countyrequires that use of Emergency Vehicle Preemption (EVP) at <br />intersections provide a minimum amount of disruption to signal timing as possible. City of La <br />Porte will install GTT Opticom GPS technology at the TXDOT & Harris County controlled <br />intersections into its EVP program which will meet the requirements of TXDOT & Harris County <br />. <br /> <br /> <br />II. Project Description and Phases of implementation <br /> <br />City of La Porte will purchase, install and manage GTT’s Opticom GPS for EVP purposes at TXDOT & <br />Harris County managed signalized intersections. The system is to be utilized by City of La Porte. <br />Phase I – Installation of EVP Hardware at seven (7) intersections and in four (4) EMS vehicles <br />Phase II – Installation of CMS for centralized reporting to Houston Tran Star <br />City of La Porte will phase in more intersections and more emergency vehicles throughout subsequent <br />fiscal years until a satisfactory level of both is attained. <br /> <br />III. Intersections to be installed with EVP are as follows: <br />1.Spencer @ Bay Area Blvd.– Harris County <br />2.Spencer @ Underwood–Harris County <br />3.Spencer @ SH 146 – TXDOT <br />4.Spencer @ Driftwood – TXDOT <br />5.Spencer @ Farrington – TXDOT <br />6.Spencer @ Myrtle Creek - TXDOT <br />7.Spencer @ Canada - TXDOT <br /> <br />
