Twenty-eight (28) vendors downloaded the bid <br />packet and four (4) bids were received. The Notice to Bidders was advertised in the <br />Bay Area Observer on October 8 and October 15, 2020, as well as posted on Public <br />. The Bid Access Report and Bid Tabulation are <br />attached. <br />The budget for this project is as follows: <br />BUDGET <br /> Project Estimate$499,000 <br /> 5% Contingency$ 24,950 <br />Total Budget for Northwest Park Lighting$523,950 <br />EXPENSES TO-DATE <br /> Contract Engineer$31,780 <br />REMAINING BUDGET$492,170 <br />The lowest bid received was$498,469, which is over budget by $6,299. Staff is working <br />with ourcontract engineer, Huitt-Zollars, to make changes to the plans in aneffort to <br />lower the cost of the project. The original design placed a lot of restraints on vendors <br />due the specified system, which resulted in those vendors not submitting bids.
