<br /> . . <br /> Redistricting Committee Minutes ll-13-0 I Meeting <br /> Page 2 <br /> Chairman Sidney Grant requested the Committee proyide a report for their Districts <br /> during the Public Hearing. <br /> The Committee discussed and agreed the focus of the Noyember 27, 2001 Meeting <br /> should be to prepare and reyiew materials to be presented at the December II, 2001 <br /> Public Hearing. <br /> The Committee would like to haye an old map with population numbers and a new map <br /> with the new proposed population numbers per district and ethnic breakdown. In <br /> addition, the Committee would like to haye a map of each district reflecting the new <br /> proposed district lines and population numbers. <br /> 5. DISCUSSION ON REPORT FROM BETTY WATERS ON ANNEXATION <br /> ORDINANCES AND COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AND DISCUSSION ON EACH <br /> COUNCIL DISTRICT <br /> Betty Waters discussed the reports she proyided to the committee and requested input. <br /> Committee members agreed they would get any comments or changes they had to Ms. <br /> Waters. <br /> 6. DISCUSSION ON POLLING LOCATIONS <br /> City Secretary Martha Gillett informed the Committee the Council recently held a <br /> workshop meeting to discuss reducing the number of polling locations. Any changes <br /> would not take affect until the May 2003 General Election. <br /> 7. PREVIOUS BUSINESS <br /> There was no preyious business to be discussed. <br /> 8. NEW BUSINESS <br /> There was no new business brought forward by the committee. <br /> 9. CALENDAR <br /> Review Monthly CalendarfNew Calendar Items and DeadlinesfDiscuss November <br /> Meeting Schedule <br /> The next regular meeting will be held on Tuesday, Noyember 27,2001. <br /> A Public Hearing will be held on December ll, 200 1 to allow the public to provide <br /> comments on the proposed R-009 Redistricting Map. <br /> Once the Public Hearing has been conducted and the comments of citizens have been <br /> taken in consideration, the map can be presented to City Council for approval at the <br /> January l4, 2002 City Council Meeting. <br />
