<br />2)Continuing to budget for capital projects that reduce the chance of flood <br /> <br />damage. <br />3)Reviewing existing ordinances that guide local development to ensure <br /> <br />that existing policies and implementation tools are in accordance with <br />best management practices. <br />4)Pursuing intergovernmental coordination with HCFCD and neighboring <br /> <br />cities in addressing drainage across the broader region. <br />5)Encouraging the joint use of detention areas for drainage and parks and <br /> <br />recreation amenities. <br /> <br />Based on these considerations, the following goals, actions, and initiatives <br />address specific issues and needs identified during the public participation <br />process (and outlined in Chapter 1, WůĂŶŽŶƚĞdžƚ). <br /> <br />GOAL 1: drainage system to reduce future flood events <br />from causing impacts to life and property. <br /> <br />Actions and Initiatives <br />1)In conformance with the specifications set forth in the Citywide Drainage <br /> <br />Study, construct the recommended relief swale and pipe upgrade <br />projects, including: <br />a.Pinegrove Valley: Relief Swale; <br /> <br />b.Brookglen: Relief Swale and Outfall Pipe Upgrade; <br /> <br />c.Fairmont Park West: Relief Swale and Outfall Pipe Upgrade; <br /> <br />d.Glen Meadow: Relief Swale and Outfall Pipe Upgrade; <br /> <br />e.Meadow Park: Relief Swale and Outfall Pipe Upgrade; <br /> <br />f.Fairmont Park: Relief Swale and Outfall Pipe Upgrade; <br /> <br />g.Creekmont Section 1: Relief Swale and Outfall Pipe Upgrade; <br /> <br />h.Fairmont Park East: Relief Swale and Outfall Pipe Upgrade; <br /> <br />i.Spencer Highway: Relief Swale; <br /> <br />j.Villa Del Rancho: Relief Swale; <br /> <br />k.Battleground Estates: Relief Swale; and <br /> <br />l.Old La Porte: Relief Swale and Outfall Pipe Upgrade. <br /> <br />2)In conformance with the specifications set forth in the Citywide Drainage <br /> <br />Study, construct the recommended channel improvement and pond <br />projects, including: <br />a.Fairmont Park, Fairmont Park East: Channel Widening; <br /> <br />b.Brookglen: Channel Lining; <br /> <br />c.Meadow Park, Villa Del Rancho: Channel Widening; <br /> <br />d.Lennox Gardens; L Street: Pond for Diversion; <br /> <br />e.Battleground Estates, Pinegrove Valley, P Street: Channel Lining; <br /> <br />f.Shady River: Channel Widening; <br /> <br />g.Woods on the Bay, Pine Bluff, Shady River: Channel Widening; and <br /> <br />h.Meadow Crest, Creekmont, Glen Meadows, Fairmont Park, Fairmont <br /> <br />Park West: Pond for Diversion. <br />3)Pursue inter-local agreements with the Harris County Flood Control <br /> <br />District (HCFCD) regarding maintenance of drainageways.
