I <br />MPLEMENTATION <br />C6 <br />HAPTER <br />This plan sets forth a vision as to how La Porte should develop <br />2001 vs. 2011 Plan Comparison <br />over the next 20 years – and beyond. With the vision in place, the <br /> <br />community must now direct its resources of time and money to <br />2001 2011 Update <br />plan implementation. Each of the goals, actions, and initiatives <br />Ch. 13, Implementation Ch. 6, Implementation <br />identified throughout this plan must be turned into specific <br />programs, initiatives, and/or new standards. This chapter <br /> <br />establishes priorities and sets forth a process to ensure the plan is <br />implemented and kept current over time. <br />6.1 Introduction <br />Implementation is a team effort, requiring the commitment and leadership <br />of elected and appointed officials, staff, residents, business and land owners, <br />and other individual and collective influences that will serve as champions of <br />this plan. This includes close coordination and joint commitment from local, <br />regional, and state partners that significantly impact the future and growth <br />of La Porte, including: <br />Harris County; <br />Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT); <br />Port of Houston Authority, and the Barbours Cut and Bayport Terminals; <br />Battleground, Bayport, and South La Porte Industrial Districts; <br />La Porte Independent School District (La Porte ISD); <br />La Porte Economic Development Corporation; <br />La Porte Redevelopment Authority; <br />Bay Area Houston Convention & Visitors Bureau; <br />La Porte-Bayshore Chamber of Commerce; <br />San Jacinto College; <br />Main Street Business Alliance; and, <br />Other organizations, agencies, and groups. <br />6.1 <br /> <br /> <br />IMPLEMENTATION <br /> <br />
