Examples are a tot lot in an apartment <br />complex or a vacant lot developed as a passive park. <br />Pocket Park <br />Service Area: Immediate development <br />Desirable Size: 0.25 to 1 acre <br />Density: 0.25 acre per 1,000 persons <br />Site Characteristics: Close proximity to high-density developments. <br />Use: Serves neighborhood residents within walking distance. Facilities are for active use (e.g. sports activities, <br />playgrounds) and passive use (e.g. walking, picnicking). <br />Service Area: Primarily serves neighborhood residents within a one-half mile radius. <br />Neighborhood/ <br />Linear Park <br />Desirable Size: Minimum 3 to 8 acres <br />Density: 1.0 acres per 1,000 persons <br />Site Characteristics: Evenly distributed across the City with convenient and safe access for nearby residents. Joint <br />school/park facilities are highly desirable. <br />Use: Serves the broader community.
