Planning and Zoning Commission <br />December 15, 2022SAC #22-25000010 <br />Planning and Development DepartmentStaff Report <br />SAC-#22-25000010 <br />DISCUSSION <br />Location: <br />th <br />The subject right-of-wayis a portion of W. F Street, east of S. 16St. and locatedbetween Lots <br />16 and 17, Block 827 and Lots 1 and 32, Block 830, Town of La Porte, Harris County, TX. <br />Background Information: <br />Staff has received anapplicationtoclosea portion of the existing W. F Street. As per the new <br />requirements recently approved by the City Council, the Planning and Zoning commission will hold a <br />public hearing and provide arecommendationto the City Council. <br />Chapter 62 of the City Code of Ordinances, was recently updated to require that applicants requesting <br />closure of certain rights-of-way where city infrastructure currently exists, shallpay for theremovaland/or <br />relocation oftheinfrastructure. The requested closure of this portion of W. F Street has anexisting <br />water main as well as a public fire hydrant. Additionally, there are existing roadside ditches located within <br />the closure area. These ditches provide the final outfall path for most ofthe drainage within the area. <br />Staff, including the Associate City Engineer and Assistant Public Works Director, do not recommend <br />closure of this portion of W. F Street. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends the Planning and Zoning Commission conductapublichearing for the proposed street <br />and alley closure SAC #22-25000010. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />Exhibit A:AreaMap <br />Exhibit B:Staff Recommendations <br />35 <br /> <br />
