<br />protection of any watersheds and the policing of same, to inspect dairies, slaughter pens, and
<br />slaughterhouses inside and outside the limits of the city, from which meat or milk is furnished to
<br />the inhabitants of the city.
<br />c. General powers adopted. The enumeration of the particular powers in this Charter shall not be
<br />held or deemed to be exclusive but in addition to the powers enumerated herein or implied hereby or
<br />appropriate to the exercise of such powers; the city shall have and may exercise all power of local
<br />self-government and all other powers which, under the Constitution and laws of the State of Texas, it
<br />would be competent for this Charter specifically to enumerate. The city shall have and may exercise all
<br />the powers enumerated in V.T.C.A., Health and Safety Code § 122.006; V.T.C.A., Local Government
<br />Code §§ 26.021, 26.041, 43.021, 43.142, 51.072, 51.074-51.077, 54.004, 101.022, 101.023, 141.044,
<br />211.003, 211.005, 211.013, 214.001, 214.013, 214.901, 215.072-215.075, 216.901, 217.042,
<br />251.001, 341.003, 341.903, 342.011, 342.012, 401.002, 402.002, 402.017; V.T.C.A., Tax Code §§

<br />1.06. - Special provisions for damage suits.
<br />Before the city shall be liable to damage claim or suit for personal injury or death or damage to
<br />property, the person who is injured or whose property is damaged or someone in his behalf or his
<br />personal representative in cases of death shall give the city secretary notice in writing within thirty (30)
<br />days after the occurring of the alleged injury, death or damage stating specifically in such notice when,
<br />where and how the injury, death or damage was sustained and setting forth the extent of the injury or
<br />damage as accurately as possible, and giving the names and addresses of all witnesses upon whose
<br />testimony such person is relying to establish the injury, death or damage. No action at law for damage
<br />shall be brought against the city for personal injury, death or damage to property prior to the expiration
<br />of sixty (60) days after the notice hereinabove described has been filed with the city secretary. After the
<br />expiration of sixty (60) days aforementioned, the complainant may then have two (2) years in which to
<br />bring an action of law.
