Project Funding Sources: <br />$100,000 UTILITY FUND – 003-890-632-1100; $105,000 originally budgeted for the previously <br /> proposed La Porte/Shoreacres interconnect and Sunrise Drive water main extension to <br /> Bay Colony. <br />$40,000 SANITARY SEWER REHABILITATION FUND – 018-988-669-1100; $300,000 <br /> budgeted for FY 13 sanitary sewer rehabilitation needs. <br />$35,000 DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENT FUND – 019-881-690-1100; $40,000 of the $250,000 <br /> budgeted for various FY 13 drainage improvements was set aside for this project. <br />________ <br />$175,000 Total <br />Project Benefits, Liabilities, and Operating Cost: <br />Benefits: <br />The proposed contract includes the replacement of aging sewer force main and water main <br />located under Boggy Bayou with very durable, single-piece high density polyethylene pipe. <br />The project also includes an additional outlet for storm drainage from the eastern portion of <br />North Shady lane to the bay. <br />Liabilities of Maintaining the Status Quo: <br />An emergency water main repair (in particular) within the limits of the bayou would be a <br />difficult repair to locate and execute under emergency conditions. The water main under <br />Boggy Bayou is the sole system connection for the Bay Colony area. <br />Operating Costs: <br />Decreased risk of emergency repair cost upon completion. <br />Action Required by Council: <br />Consider approval or other action to authorize the City Manager to execute a contract with Aztec <br />Remodeling and Landscaping in the amount of $175,000forWaterline and Sanitary Sewer <br />Crossing Replacement at Boggy Bayou W/ Storm Sewer Improvements including drainage <br />improvement (Section C) and water/sewer improvements Alternate 2 (Sections D, and E)in the <br />amount of $165,885.00 plus a$9,115.00 for contingency. <br />Approved for City Council Agenda <br />Corby D.
