The mission for the City of La Porte's Fire Department is to provide the community with <br />the most efficient and progressive Fire Prevention, Protection, and Emergency Medical Services <br />possible in an effective and responsible manner. This mission is accomplished by providing the <br />best possible training, updated equipment, and protocols for the people that respond. <br />LPFCPEMSD will incorporate strategies to help the Fire Department accomplish its mission. <br />The LPFCPEMSD Board has established the budget, held a public hearing and approved the <br />budget during the May 30, 2013 meeting. The next step in the process is for the approved budget <br />to be presented to Council. Council will then approve or decline to approve the budget as <br />presented. <br />Staff is recommending Council approval of the LPFCPEMSD budget as passed by the Board. <br />Action Required by Council: <br />Consider approval or other action on the La Porte Fire Control, Prevention, and Emergency <br />Medical Services District budget for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2013, as approved by <br />the Board of Directors of the District at its meeting of May 30, 2013. <br />Approved for City Council Agenda <br />Corby D.
