REQUEST FOR CITY COUNCIL AGENDA ITEM <br />Budget <br />Agenda Date Requested: 4-12-14 <br />Source of Funds: <br />Requested By:Kenith Adcox <br />Account Number: <br />Department:Police <br />Amount Budgeted: <br />Report: X Resolution: Ordinance: <br />Amount Requested: <br />Budgeted Item:N/A <br />Exhibits: Presentation – DOT Enforcement <br /> <br />Exhibits: <br />Exhibits <br />SUMMARY & RECOMMENDATION <br />For fiscal year 2013/2014, City Council allocated $29,000 in targeted overtime in order to allow the <br />Police Department’s Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit to (1) increase the number of commercial <br />vehicle contacts and (2) expand commercial vehicle enforcement hours later into the evening. The <br />additional overtime funds were incorporated into the budget and allowed for the Department’s DOT <br />officers to work approximately 624 hours of overtime during the evening hours. We are currently halfway <br />through the fiscal year and are on track to meet anticipated increases in DOT work-hours and activity. <br />Action Required by Council: <br />Receive input from Council relating to the continuation and/or modification of the Commercial Vehicle <br />Enforcement extension program. <br />Approved for City Council Agenda <br />Corby Alexander, City Manager Date <br /> <br />
