"J" St. and N. "L" St. in the Nebraska Syndicate Subdivision. The purpose of the applicants' <br />request is to facilitate expansion of operations in the Nebraska Syndicate subdivision. <br />Staff's review of the application has determined that existing water, sanitary sewer and storm sewer <br />facilities are located within the portion of the N. 8th St. Right -of -Way subject to closing. Each applicant <br />has subsequently executed a utility easement within their respective portion of the N. 8th St. Right -of - <br />Way to be closed. Centerpoint Energy, Comcast and AT&T have each expressed "no objection" to the <br />requested closing. <br />In accordance with Section 62-35 of the Code of Ordinances, an appraisal of the N. 8th St. Right -of -Way <br />has been obtained by the City to establish fair market value. The appraisal report has set a value of <br />$2.75 per square foot for the subject right-of-way. Closing fees in the amount of $60,637.50 (after 25% <br />discount by ordinance) have been received from the Joseph P. Cunningham Family Partnership for its <br />interest in the west '/2 of the right-of-way. Per Section 62-35, Paragraph "A", the Port of Houston <br />Authority, being a governmental entity having the power of eminent domain, is exempted from payment <br />of application and closing fees for the east '/2 of the subject right-of-way. <br />
