Ordinance No. Page 2 <br />HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS, ACCORDING TO THE MAP OR PLAT THEREOF RECORDED IN VOLUME <br />284, PAGE 93 OF THE MAP RECORDS OF HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS, which is more commonly known as <br />9906 ROCKY HOLLOW RD., Harris County, Texas, has become dangerous or substandard and thereby a public <br />nuisance, as established in Section 82-473 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of La Porte; and <br />WHEREAS, said Board has heretofore made and filed its written report, dated MARCH 29, 2018 finding <br />said building to be in fact a dangerous building; <br />WHEREAS, City Council received such report, and ordered notice to the record owner and lienholders of <br />said property that a hearing as provided in Section 82-477 of said Ordinance would be held at 6:00 PM on JUNE <br />11, 2018, at 604 W. Fairmont Parkway, at the Council Chambers, City Hall, City of La Porte, Texas, at which <br />time the Council would hear further evidence for and against the conclusions of the Board; <br />WHEREAS, the City of La Porte has heretofore served notice upon said owner by posting a notice on the <br />subject property at 9906 ROCKY HOLLOW RD. on or about MAY 23, 2018; and by registered mail, return <br />receipt requested, which notice was shown by USPS as delivered to his last known address of 16297 Dockbar <br />Court, Friendswood, Texas 77546, on or about MAY 26 , 2018 (RETURNED); a date more than ten (10) days <br />before the date set for the public hearing; as required by law, such notice included a statement that that the owner <br />was required to submit at the public hearing proof of the scope of work that may be required to bring the structure <br />into compliance and the time it would take to reasonably perform the work; furthermore, notice of the <br />aforementioned public hearing date was published in the Bay Area Observer on MAY 31, 2018 and JUNE 7, <br />2018; <br />WHEREAS, the City of La Porte has additionally served notice upon James B. Nutter and Company, <br />lienholder against the subject property pursuant to Deed of Trust dated March 1, 2014 and recorded under Harris <br />County Clerk File No. T572069, by registered mail, return receipt requested, which notice was shown by USPS <br />as delivered to said lienholder on or about MAY 29, 2018, at its last known address of 4153 Broadway, Kansas <br />City, Missouri 64111, a date more than ten (10) days before the date set for the public hearing; as required by <br />law, such notice included a statement that that the lienholder was required to submit at the public hearing proof <br />of the scope of work that may be required to bring the structure into compliance and the time it would take to <br />reasonably perform the work; <br /> <br />
