The proposed zone change <br />would allow for the development of a multi -family development on the site. The property <br />in question is located at the northwest corner of Fairmont Parkway and Canada Road, <br />and is legally described as Tracts 710A and 711, La Porte Outlots. <br />The City's Future Land Use Plan identifies this property as "Commercial" land use. In <br />order to accommodate the proposed development, the FLUP would need to be <br />amended to allow for "Mid -High Density Residential" use. <br />The Planning and Zoning Commission, at their August 15, 2019, regular meeting, voted <br />8-0 to recommend approval of the proposed Future Land Use Amendment. <br />RECOMMENDED MOTION <br />I move that the Council adopt Ordinance 2019-3759, amending the City's Future Land <br />Use Plan for a 12.608 -acre tract of land located at the northwest corner of Fairmont <br />Parkway and Canada Road, legally described as Tracts 710A and 711, La Porte <br />Outlots. <br />
