The 2018 International Fire Code and local <br />amendments were subsequently reviewed and discussed by the Board. At their <br />September 9, 2020 meeting, the Board voted unanimously to recommend adoption of <br />the 2018 International Fire Code with local amendments. Staff has attached the Board <br />recommendation memo. <br /> <br />The local amendments are changes to specific sections of the 2018 International Fire <br />Code which are unique to the City of La Porte such as Violation Penalties, Fire Lane <br />Marking, Fire Hydrant Installation and Plan Submittal Requirements. Although a new <br />section has been added clarifying Open Burning, Recreational Fires & Portable Outdoor <br />Fireplaces, the local amendments follow past practices such as Fire Lane Marking and <br />Fire Hydrant Installation to maintain consistency for the La Porte Fire Department <br />apparatus placement and specific requirements for licensed trade persons to be <br />present for system acceptance inspections. <br /> <br />Significant Changes from the 2015 International Fire Code to the 2018 International <br />Fire Code are: <br /> <br /> <br />
