The project was to be performed in two phases. Phase I included re -design of intersections, installation of new traffic signals and underground fiber optic cable along Fairmont Parkway from 7t" Street to Beltway 8. Phase 11 includes modification of traffic signals and synchronization of all traffic signals to improve traffic flow. Funds for the La Porte section of the project were budgeted in the FY 16-17 budget. The attached interlocal agreement provides a mechanism for Harris County to finalize the project, with La Porte participating with Harris County for a maximum amount of $1,000,000.00. This is equal to 14.6% of the entire project costs ($6,855,550) and 29.5% of the local share amount ($3,387,910). Additionally, Harris County is currently considering the feasibility of widening Fairmont Parkway to provide one (1) additional travel lane in each direction. The feasibility assessment is being prepared as a preliminary engineering report (PER) and is approximately eighty-five percent (85%) complete. Preliminary project costs are anticipated to range between $30,000,000 and $40,000,000. At this time, no consideration has been given to the City assisting with funding for the widening of Fairmont Parkway. Benefits: 0 Improved traffic flow
