RESOLUTION 2021-42 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, AUTHRORIZING THE <br />VICTIM COORDINATOR AND LIAISON POSITION BE PARTIALLY FUNDED THROUGH A GRANT FOR <br />THE FISCAL YEARS 2022-2023; APPROVING THE SUBMISSION OF THE GRANT APPLICATION FOR THE <br />VICITM COORDINATOR AND LIAISON POSITION THROUGH THEOFFICE OF THE ATTORNEY <br /> <br />FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE <br />HEREOF. <br />Legal Name of Applicant: City of La Porte, Texas <br />Unique Application Number: 2022-0018458445 <br />WHEREAS, the City of La Porte has applied for or wishes to apply to the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) for the <br />Victim Coordinator and Liaison Grant (VCLG); and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of The City of La Porte has considered and supports the Application filed or to be filed with <br />the Office of the Attorney General; and <br />WHEREAS, t he City of La Porte has designated or wishes to designate Corby Alexander, City Manager, as the <br />Coordinator and Liaison Grant (VCLG) with the Office of the Attorney General (OAG), as well as given the authority to <br />sign all grant adjustment requests, inventory reports, progress reports, and financial reports or any other official documents <br />related to the grant on behalf of the grantee. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, <br />TEXAS, THAT: <br />Section 1. That The City of La Porte City Council authorizes the Victim Coordinator and Liaison Position be acquired <br />through a grant for fiscal years 2022-2023, and further authorizes and approves submission of the grant <br />application for the Victim Coordinator and Liaison Position, via the Office of the Attorney General of the State <br />of Texas. <br />Section 2. <br />Section 3. The City of La Porte agrees that in the event of loss or misuse of the Office of the Attorney General funds, the <br />City of La Porte assures that the funds will be returned to the Office of the Attorney General in full; and; agrees <br />that it will appropriate any matching funds in support of the grant, if applicable. <br />Section 4. The City Council officially finds, determines, recites, and declares that a sufficient written notice of the date, <br />hour, place and subject of this meeting of the City Council was posted at a place convenient to the public at the <br />City Hall of the City for the time required by law preceding this meeting, as required by the Open Meetings <br />Law, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code; and that this meeting has been open to the public as required by <br />law at all times during which this ordinance and the subject matter thereof has been discussed, considered and <br />formally acted upon. The City Council further ratifies, approves and confirms such written notice and the <br />contents and posting thereof. <br />Section 5. This resolution shall be in effect from and after its passage and approval. <br /> <br />
