PUBLIC HEARINGS AND ASSOCIATED ORDINANCES <br />a.The City Council will hold a public hearing to receive comments regarding a recommendation by the <br />Planning and Zoning Commission to adopt Ordnance 2021-3822 amending the Code of Ordinances of the <br />City of LA Porte, Chapter l Use Permit #20-91000003, to allow <br />for a residential and commercial development to locate on a 56.7-acre tract of land, legally described as <br />Lots 1-33, Block 1267, La Porte Subdivision, Tract 1M, Abstract 35, J Hunter Survey, and Tracts 5 & 5L, <br />Abstract 30, W. P. Harris Survey Subdivision in the Planned Unit Development (PUD) zoning district; <br />followed by discussion and possible action to consider adopting Ordinance 2021-3822 amending the Code <br />of Ordinances of the City of La Porte, Chapter 106 ranting Special Conditional Use Permit <br />#20-91000003 to allow for a mixed residential and commercial development to locate on a 56.7-acre tract of <br />land, legally described as Lots 1-33, Block 1267, La Porte Subdivision, Tract 1M, Abstract 35, J Hunter <br />Survey, and Tracts 5 and 5L, Abstract 30, W. P. Harris Survey Subdivision in the Planned Unit Development <br />(PUD) zoning districts. \[Teresa Evans, Director\] <br /> <br />Planning Director Teresa Evans provided an update on the project, following the TIRZ meeting and approval of a <br />development agreement for the same. Mayor Rigby opened the public hearing at 6:30 p.m. Alan Mueller, a <br />representative of Gromax Development and HistoryMaker Homes spoke in support of the amendments to the <br />SCUP. DeeAnne Thomson, HOA President, Lakes of Fairmont Green, asked a number of questions about, and <br />spoke in opposition to, aspects of the project. Maggie Anderson, HOA President, Baypointe Townhomes, spoke in <br />opposition to including any commercial development in the project. Mayor Rigby closed the public hearing at 7:12 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tem Martin moved to adopt Ordinance 2021-3822 approving amending the Code of Ordinances of the <br />-91000003, to allow for a <br />residential development only, with no commercial development permitted, to locate on a 56.7-acre tract of land, <br />legally described as Lots 1-33, Block 1267, La Porte Subdivision, Tract 1M, Abstract 35, J Hunter Survey, and <br />Tracts 5 and 5L, Abstract 30, W. P.
