REQUEST FOR CITY COUNCIL AGENDA ITEM <br />Appropriation <br />Agenda Date Requested:August 22, 2022 <br />Requested By:Source of Funds:N/A <br />Ray Mayo <br />Department: <br />Public Works <br />Account Number:N/A <br />Amount Budgeted:N/A <br />ReportResolutionOrdinance <br />Amount Requested:N/A <br />Exhibits: Resolution Authorizing Signatories; <br />Budgeted Item:YesNo <br />Depository/Authorized Signatories Designation Form <br />SUMMARY & RECOMMENDATION <br />The U.S. Department of Housing and <br />Mitigation (CBDG-MIT) program to provide financial assistance with funds appropriated under Public Law <br />115-123, was enacted on August 30, 2019 to facilitate disaster recovery, restoration, mitigation, and <br />economic revitalizationwithin 2015, 2016, and 2017 Presidentially-declared major disaster areas.The <br />General Land Office(GLO)required submission of a Non- <br />proposed non-housing project to principally benefit those of low and moderate income areas by repairing <br />or mitigating damage that occurred within the presidentially-declareddisaster areas. <br />The City of La Porte submitted a grant application, under the CDBG-MIT program, for the Brookglen <br />Subdivision Drainage Improvements Project,and the GLO and the City of La Porte entered into an <br />agreement, effective March 21, 2022, through June 30, 2025, awarding the City $4,000,000.00 for the <br />project.The project is intended to increase the capacity of the existing storm sewer system by installing <br />larger storm sewer infrastructure and regrading existing pavement to provide a positive overland flow <br />path to Willow Springs Bayou. <br />Grant recipients using Texas GLO CDBG-MITfunding for housing or non-housing projects are required <br />to provide proof of a resolutiondesignating authorized signatories for contractual documents and <br />documents requesting fundspertaining to the CDBG Program. <br />ACTION REQUIRED BY COUNCIL <br />AdoptResolution 2022-16designating authorized signatories for contractual documents and documents <br />requesting funds pertaining to t <br />Development Block Grant Mitigation program. <br />Approved for the City Council meeting agenda <br />Corby D.
