While there will <br />growth in population, the City needs to transition its focus fro <br />infill development. Similarly, the City needs to transition its <br />adding new infrastructure, facilities, and services to one focus <br />expansion and maintenance of the systems that already exist. The <br />made today will have lasting effects continued abilities to <br />generate economic growth and provide adequate, efficient, and fi <br />responsible municipal services to its citizens. <br />2.1 Introduction <br />This chapter is closely related to other elements of this plan <br />2001 vs. 2012 Plan Comparison <br />addressing land use and community character, mobility, and <br /> <br />economic development as they relate to development, <br />2001 2012 Update <br />redevelopment, and the commits <br />Ch. 6, Utility <br />demands for providing and improving public facilities and <br />Infrastructure Systems <br />services. The analysis and findings presented in this chapter ar <br />Ch. 3, Infrastructure <br />Ch. 8, Community <br />and Growth Capacity <br />based primarily on known factors regarding existing utility <br />Facilities <br />infrastructure systems, programmed and anticipated utility <br />Ch. 11, Public Safety <br />improvements, existing staffing and service capabilities of the <br />police, fire, and EMS departments, and projected population <br />growth of the City.
