Utilize the Federal Bureau of Investigat <br />Crime in the United States (latest edition) staff survey as a me <br />comparison for full-time law enforcement professionals and civil <br />staffing needs. This could include: <br />a.Full-time law enforcement officers concurrent with population <br />growth; <br />b.One additional crime analyst; <br />c.One additional jailer per shift; and <br />d.One additional dispatcher per shift so that Fire/EMS Departments <br />have a dedicated person taking and dispatching their calls. <br />2)Construct a new joint 6,000 square foot animal shelter that is s <br />to achieve certification requirements. <br />3)Support the Police Department <br />training throughout the community. <br />4)Upgrade the firing range so that it has adequate lighting and a <br />target system to increase officer preparedness in emergency situ <br />using force. <br />5)Establish a formalized replacement and procurement program for <br />vehicles and equipment to keep pace with state-of-the-art law <br />enforcement technology and capabilities. This could include: <br />a.Rotating cars every three years; <br />b.Replacing laptops and software in patrol cars in a timely manner <br />6)Provide adequate funding to expand the amount and quality of mor <br />cost-effective in-house training for patrol officers and other s <br />3.18 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
