• Park Master Plan Progress Report <br />U <br />• <br />The Park Master Plan consultant, Halff and Associates, are approximately 50% through <br />with the overall plan. A telephone survey was accomplished in July -August that <br />gathered information from random households in La Porte. The consultants have met <br />with the Parks & Recreation Department staff, and the City executive staff. There has <br />been a Town Meeting held at Sylvan Beach Pavilion on September 5th to gather input <br />from the community as a whole. Other special interest groups (i.e. youth sports <br />associations, and City Council members) will be accomplished shortly. <br />I talked to Ray Turco this morning, I should have a draft report on the telephone survey <br />results by the time the retreat gets here and possibly a final report, as well as a status <br />report on the total project. I should be able to have the consultant. Jim Carrillo, at the <br />retreat to make a presentation if you think that's advisable <br />The master plan should be ready for review in October, any revisions or changes <br />needed should be accomplished and ready for Council approval by November, 2001. <br />Another town meeting will be scheduled for November (prior to Council approval) to <br />present the plan to the public and check public response to the plan. <br />12.1 <br />
