• .0
0 Fire Department Future Bond Projects
Fire Training Facility Upgrade
This project would extend the use of the FTF into the future. With
the expected development in the immediate area smoke will become an
issue with our present training facility. Already we have certain wind
conditions that affect our neighbors with the smoke from the burning
hay we use for fuel, which will impact our ability to utilize the field for
our training, and for rentals. We expect that the air quality monitoring
agencies will ban fuels that produce allot of smoke at these type
facilities. Propane properly burned produces no smoke.
• Install three propane fueled, computer controlled burners inside
the existing two burn structures to simulate interior firefighting.
• Install three propane fueled fire props on existing paving, ie:
flange fire, pump seal fire, and tank fire.
• Install propane fuel tank and associated piping to support props
• and simulators, which will include boring or saw cutting existing
concrete paving for fuel lines and control circuits.
Estimated cost: 2 M
VHF Radio Trunking Project
This project will allow the Fire Department and EMS to trunk the
existing radio frequencies to expand our communication capabilities by
opening up more channels.
• Purchase equipment needed for the conversion
• Installation of the equipment
Estimated cost: 250 K
• Fire Station One/Fire Administration Replacement Project
