The <br />tax rate is a slight decrease from 69.6 cents. <br /> <br />City Manager Bill Eisen said City Council will hold a workshop later this year to <br />discuss the homestead exemption and tax exemption for seniors. <br /> <br />Seniors already get break <br />Pearland property owners who are at least 65 years old already receive a $25,000 <br />property tax exemption from the city. <br /> <br />City Councilman Woody Owens said a $25,000 exemption for all residents would cost <br />the city $384,000 in annual property tax revenue. <br /> <br />"It's time to give something back to the people that live here in Pearland, " said Owens, <br />56. <br /> <br />1 <br />
