Texas

r . r,

Aeronautics Commission
P09T OFFICE BOX 12807.CAPIT0L 87ATt0N,AU8TIN78711 / (tSt2)478-4788
November 1, 1976
The Honorable J. J. Meza
Mayor
P. 0. Box 1115
LaPorte, Texas 77571
Re: LaPorte Municipal Airport
Dear Mayor Meza:
We are attaching an original and one copy of a Grant Offer in the amount
of $20,000. The copy can be retained for your files. We are also attach-
ing a copy of a sample resolution which you can use as a guide in accepting
the grant.
If the State of Texas' share, as stated in the offer, and all other items
thereof are satisfactory, the offer should be accepted and executed by the
official duly designated to take such action by the City of LaPorte.
After execution on the part of the City, the original Grant Agreement and
a certified copy of the resolution authorizing its acceptance should be
• returned to the Texas Aeronautics Commission.
Although our Commissioners set aside $25,000, we note from the bids re-
ceived on October 20, 1976, that the construction is only $289,860. This,
together with reasonable engineering and contingencies, would not be over
$340,000, making the City's share approximately $34,000. ,One-half of the
above (State's share) would be only $17,000. We believe that a grant of
$20,000 would be sufficient.
The enclosed offer should be accepted or rejected within the time limit
stated in the offer.
Sincerely yours,
~~
Charles urphy
`~~ Directo
CM:lb
Encl: Grant Offer
cc: FAA Houston

Rex C.
